What is the cause and method of rectifying Err 44.0 absolute single revolution counter fault protection and Err 45.0 absolute multi-revolution counter encoder?

ANSWER

■ Cause
• If the encoder is an absolute type,
 Err44.0: Generated when a single revolution data is incorrect due to malfunction or failure while the encoder power supply (5 V) is ON.
 Err45.0: Generated when a fault occurs in the counting signal of multi-revolution data while the encoder power supply (5 V) is ON.
(This does not operate if the encoder power is off.)

• If the encoder is an incremental type
 Err44.0: Generated when a fault occurs in the data for a single revolution. (Such as A-B-phase abnormality, Z-phase abnormality, malfunction due to EMI, etc.)
 Err45.0: Generated when a fault occurs in the data for a single revolution. (Such as A-B-phase abnormality, CS-phase abnormality, malfunction due to EMI, etc.)
■ Action
• If stress (thrust, radial load) is applied to the motor shaft, the encoder rotation disc gap will wobble, possibly causing a malfunction. If the generation frequency is high, encoder failure is possible and replacement of the motor is required.
• If the generation frequency is low, malfunction due to EMI is possible. After implementing EMI prevention measures, such as installing a ferrite core in the encoder cable, evaluate their effectiveness.
